Oracle
by Gregory Loselle

The fireplace exhales the memory of heat,
the odor of ash and trapped air.

The books, a silent chorus on the shelves
shrug off their titles; closed, they stare

but speak no judgment.  A stack of magazines
ages on the floor, compact in its despair.

A pen on the desk points through the window,
toward the yard.  Who left it there?

This is Gregory Loselle's second publication in The Ambassador Poetry Project.
